Pocket Knife Lierenaar Steak & Utility, 92mm, Carbon/Stainless, Fine Woods

Price

R 1 340,00

The Robert Herder Lierenaar is a simple and classic pocket knife made in Solingen. The design is based on a classic pocket knife formerly used in the Belgian city of Lier. Hence the name „Lierenaar“.

You open the pocket knife with both hands. The blade is then secured by an earlier version of a back lock. The blade is made of classic carbon steel, just like Robert Herder's kitchen knives. The blade is thinly ground and can be ground very sharply, but is not rust-proof. That's why a patina forms over time. So clean the blade and dry it well after use, rubbing it in occasionally with a little oil. The same applies to the handle made of untreated beechwood.

Because the blade is so thinly ground, the lierenaar cuts excellently. The large handle ensures that even large hands have a good grip. Everything shows that this knife was made with an eye on the past: the model, material and workmanship are simple. A real piece of modern history.
