KB2 Artisan Bread Knife - Iced Beech Special Edition
R 5 060,00
The serrations of the Robert Herder KB bread knife move smoothly through all kinds of bread. Hard or soft crust, no problem. The knife is not only limited to bread. The serrated blade can also be used to cut pies and cakes, as well as hard fruits and vegetables.
The blade made from pure stainless steel. In contrast to the carbon steel often used by Robert Herder, this steel is corrosion resistant. The blade is sharpened by hand according to the principle of the traditional 'Solinger Dünnschliff'. This results in a razor-sharp knife. A unique feature of the blade is that it is sharpened on both sides, making it perfect for left-handed and right-handed use. Something you don't often come across with bread knives. The handle is made from ice beech wood. Ice beech wood is a type of beech wood. The special colour emerges because of a fungus. This fungus develops each time the beech wood falls over. The moisture allows the fungus to develop well. Once dried, the growth of the fungus stops. This makes it possible to make beautiful knife handles. The name "Eisbuche" refers to the effect of the veined drawing, which might remind you of jagged icebergs. This wood is seamlessly attached to the blade with four rivets.
The ergonomics are also great. The handle with rounded shapes is slim and graceful and fits perfectly in hand. The K-series was designed for cooking enthusiasts who want to use their kitchen knives intensively.
Most of Robert Herder's knives are made by hand and can therefore have a somewhat longer delivery time.

I got this as a present for a friend and they have been going on about it for days. Going to have look into getting one for myself at this point.
A tough decision between this and the standard version but the handle just is 10x better in person. Great knife
