K-Series KB2 Bread Knife, 225mm, Stainless, Fine Woods
R 4 360,00
The serrated edge of the Robert Herder KB Bread Knife cuts through all kinds of bread without any problems. Whether the crust is crispy or soft: no problem for the bread knife! But you can't just cut bread with this knife. The serrated blade is also great for cutting cakes and pies as well as hard fruits and vegetables.
Robert Herder usually likes to use carbon steel. Here, however, stainless steel was chosen. The blade is made of stainless steel and ground by hand according to the principle of the traditional „Solingen thin grind“. The result is a very sharp knife. A great detail is that the blade is ground on both sides. Thus, the knife is suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users. You don't often see that with bread knives. The special color of the wood is caused by a fungus. Fungi attack and discolor healthy wood. The fungus develops particularly well in a warm, humid environment. When the wood has dried, the fungus stops growing. The beautiful knife handles can then be made. The wood is attached to the blade with four rivets.
Ergonomics was also given great importance. The handle is slim and graceful with rounded shapes and fits perfectly in the hand. The K-Series was developed for cooking friends who want to make intensive use of their kitchen knives.

Reviews
Got this mostly for my baking. It glides through cakes and pies without tearing them up. The stainless steel blade is much easier to maintain than Robert Herder's usual carbon steel.!
I am left-handed and finding a double-sided bread knife is so rare. Cuts through crusty sourdough perfectly.
Had Robert Herder for a while now and it's consistent quality
At over R4000 it is quite an investment, but my word is it sharp. I even sometimes use it for veggies it just goes right through.
Had a previous older version of this but the upgrade is a serious upgrade. Proper chef quality knife.
