The Windmill Knife 185mm Strop is a premium, German-made honing tool designed to give your pocket knives, like the IBEX, the ultimate finishing touch to keep them in top shape.
Mounted on a sturdy common beech wood base, the tool features approximately 2mm thick Nubuck cowhide with a fine front side (10 microns) and a rougher back side (20 microns).
By using this dual-sided strop for the final stroking of the burr after standard sharpening, you can easily multiply the blade's sharpness and edge retention.
Measuring 185 x 45 mm, this highly durable, artisanal accessory includes a decorative leather strap for convenient hanging and easy access in your workspace.

How to Use (Sharpening)

Preparation: Use this tool only after standard sharpening with a whetstone or sharpening rod.

Technique: Stroke the blade's edge trailing away from the cutting direction (pulling the spine forward, edge backward).

Process: Begin on the rougher back side (20 microns) if a larger burr is present, then finish on the fine front side (10 microns) to smoothly polish the edge and multiply the blade's sharpness.
